Program Mission

The Computer Aided Accounting program (CAA) has been offered within the School of Computing and Technology since 1997. The program is the first and only program in the TRNC which leads to education in accounting with the aid of computers.

The program has a duration of two or three years, and aims to equip graduates with the necessary knowledge and skills in accounting, finance, and English language together with computer applications, all of which are now demanded by the business world.

Opportunities Offered

• A fully equipped computer laboratory dedicated for teaching hands-on Computer aided Accounting.
• Accounting Software packages/ programs both in English and Turkish - (Sage in English, Logo and Eta in Turkish).
• 40 days Summer Training (Internship)
• At a time of globalization, it is imperative that students follow their courses in English, which is vital if they want to benefit from the vast facilities offered by the Internet.
• Students are offered practical instruction in book-keeping, accounting and other related subjects.
• Graduates are qualified enough to pursue their further education in Business Administration, or Banking and Finance.

As a result of the progressive nature of education received by our graduates, they are greatly demanded in the market place. Most courses are WEB based, and practical application receives as much attention as theory. Furthermore, since English is the medium of instruction, students are able to make use of the vast material available on the Internet.

The present era of ''globalization'' has made the use of the computer, and English a necessity. With the aid of our program, students learn English and computers at the same time. That is why our graduates have been so successful in finding jobs in today's highly competitive market.

In our daily life, computerized accounting systems are vitally important. Therefore, there is a very high demand from the industry for qualified accountants. Moreover, Turkey 's and TRNC's candidacy for European Union membership has forced organizations to revise and improve their managerial and accounting standards. As a result of these changes, there is a great demand from the organizations for our graduates who are competent in computerized accounting and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
