The Lusignan Prince was at EMU

Lusignan Prince Philip Roux, the grandson of Lusignan King Jacques II, and his wife paid a visit to Eastern Mediterranean University.

Prince Philip Roux visited Rector Prof. Dr. Halil Güven and gathered some information about the university. Rector Güven told the Prince about their attempts to open a Lusignan Corner in the Library and asked for help on this project.

Prof. Güven gave the Prince information about the city of Gazimagusa and Cyprus history expressing his contentment upon seeing the Prince and his wife at EMU. Prince Philip Roux said he was fascinated by the infrastructure and the campus buildings. The Prince presented a book depicting the history of his family to Rector Güven.

Prince Philip Roux said he would be very pleased to donate some of the books from his Lusignan Archive to the university library and hence enable the students to conduct research on the Lusignans.

Prince Roux and his wife had lunch with some of the EMU faculty members. Their visit ended with a campus tour and before departure, the Prince said EMU was a modern university offering education at international standards.
